I have a problem....

On par with my fascinating post last year about my favorite ornaments, I'm posting about the ornaments I acquired this year.  And, I have a problem, this year I bought 10.  In my defense, we went on a huge trip and ornaments are my favorite souvenirs.  It's clutter that you only have to bring out once a year.
I wanted Paul and Babe ornaments, but they didn't have any, so Sheila found these salt and pepper shakers that I turned into ornaments.  LOVE

I got this one at the Nelson, our local art museum.  The lawn of the museum has these giant shuttle cocks - they're our version of Minneapolis' Spoonbridge and Cherry.  I had to have it- it's quintessentially Kansas City

This was a gift sent to us my Matt's Aunt Pauline in Michigan

This is my favorite ornament of the year.  It's the one I picked out for Charlie and I spent way too much money on it- but I had to have it.  Sometimes, you just have to splurge.

Ethan's ornament from the trip

Okay, so I'm counting that the kids don't read this blog, which I'm pretty sure they don't.  Each year I pick out an ornament for the kids to give as Christmas gifts.  Jonathan Adler had a sale on their ornaments early in the year- I love pretty much anything Jonathan Adler does, so I had to have them.  Should I save them until next year since they already have Michigan ornaments?  No way, I'll never make it that long.  This one is Bridgette's

Charlie's JA ornament.
Whew, done...I went overboard, didn't I.

Already have presents to put under the tree!  I have mad green skills- here is a present for Matt in a re-purposed baby wipes box- So weird and hipster!

Happy Thanksgiving

We are very thankful for healthy children, loving family, a roof over our head and plentiful food on our plates.  After a long day of eating and being with family, it's lay on the couch and watch a movie time! Happy Thanksgiving!

Child of the 80's- Grew up in the 90s

I was an 80's child, but came of age in the 90's. I was ages 12-21 in the 90's, is there any more coming of age than that? Here is why my child hood ruled....

Well, this didn't really rule, but it was brand new, and cool.  And charged by the minute...and only Rachel Jens house had it...

Subjected poor Theresa to this millions of times...

Sadly, these have been replaced by texts...

I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so scared!

And my love obsession with Matt Damon began....

Oh Dorothy Torkelson, how I love you....
There are so many more than I could ever list, but I found this site here that had a bunch and took me back.  I compiled a collage of pictures of me in the 90s- there were cute ones, I tried not to hold back on the really bad 90s examples...
