Charlie is 2 months! (and one day) and his new boppy

Let's first start at where we came from- I'd like to post these at all milestones- he was so small!
My big, fat, fattie baby!

I love baby worried looks!

New boppy from our girlfriend's mom, Dina

First time in a pool

We went to go visit my friend and fellow new mama Dina and her daughter Olivia. They have a great pool in their neighborhood. Now that school is in, we were the only ones there- it was great!! Charlie fussed a bit at first, I think because the water was cold, but he got into it with time. He was tired at the end and was ready for a nap when these were taken. You can see he's fussy mussy while Olivia cooley looks on- she's such a cutie.

Rob and Melissa's baby shower

Sarah, Missy's brother Brad, Megan and Shelby

My dearest friend in the world is having a baby in October. I'm overjoyed that we will have kids the same age. They had a shower on Saturday. It was nice- no games, good weather, great back deck at Kevin and Mary's house. Also got to see old friends I don't get to see very often. I miss my Lawrence girls! And surprise, surprise, Charlie a was such a champ- he's such a good baby. And was loved and praised by all.

Visiting Mama Gail
Visiting Dad at work- he looks mad, but I swear he was laughing
Aunt Michelle babysitting while I get myself a new job

Visiting Jessica post surgery

Wow, this makes it look like we go so many places when really, between the newborness and the heat, we've tended to be hermit crabs

A revamp of the bloggy blog

I started this blog shortly before I got engaged and it morphed into this ridiculous wedding blog. I was posting and posting and posting all things wedding and pretty back when I was planning. One year later I got married and was so done with wedding planning, I didn't even want to look at all the wedding blogs I had been so loyally following. I kicked them all of my following list and never went back. I kept a few that were actually getting married themselves and were very close to their weddings so I could see how it went, but the wedding blogs that just covered weddings, I was done with. Four days after the wedding, I got pregnant, and now the blog has turned into all things Charlie. This blog is going to be only our family now for pretty much my personal use and updates for friends and family. I even went so far as to go back and DELETE all the millions of dress, shoes, idea posts I was putting up for the wedding. And some day, I'll probably even go back and delete the nursery idea posts I've put up. I kept a few of my very favorite posts like

my favorite wedding ever

The coolest idea for a wedding ever

MN Girls are awesome

Cute pics and more cute pics

And this post that made my heart skip and this one that made my heart double skip

Whew- it's almost a relief to have this blog so cleaned up.

Charlie's first smile caught on camera

I have been trying and trying to get his smile on camera- they are always so brief. I took about 20 pics and did even realize I had caught this until I plugged it into the computer. You should have heard my squeal when I saw it. It's a little blurry, but total Charlie

Back to work- into daycare

I know these pictures are unrelated, but I don't like posting without pics- and here is a really sweet one of his brother Ethan feeding him for the first time. I was a little nervous, he's only 10, but he did a great job!
I went back to work yesterday. Right now I'm back part time. I used to live about 20 minutes from my job, but after I got married, I am now about 45 minutes from my job. Between dropping him off at daycare and getting to work we are talking on hour and 15 minutes. It's just too much. So I am looking for another one- let me tell you how much fun it is to look for a job right now. I'm just glad that I am employed, so I'm not desperate.
Charlie went to Lauren's for daycare- a friend of his aunts who just had a baby herself ( 2 weeks older than Charlie and about half the size- my chunky boy!) I was very happy to find her. I was anxiety free dropping him off, which I think is a big deal for the first day. I was sad to say goodbye to him. Besides a quick run to the store, I haven't been away from him since he was born. I was so busy at work, so the day went by in a flash. She sent me email updates throughout the day, so it was great. And although I was sleep deprived (of course, our schedule went out the window the night before I actually have to start getting up again in the morning) it was nice to not worry about him and just be. I forgot what it was like to not be constantly worrying how long he'll stay in one place before he fusses or wakes up- schedule little spurts of getting stuff done while he naps. It's so funny- he goes down and I'm balls to the wall trying to get the running list in my head of all the stuff that needs to get done. And my house is still a disaster!
All in all going back to work and getting him in daycare was a good experience. I was prepared for the worst, but I think it's going to be fine. Someday we'll win the lottery and I can stay home and shoot out some more little buggers! (I find myself already forgetting how much being prego sucked and wanting to do it again! Must be hormones!)

One month photo shoot

My sister has been going to Target for years for the photos of her girls and has great luck with them. She gets great photos and has had nothing but good things to say about them. Plus, being Minneapolis girls, we are loyal Target girls. So it was time for Charlie's one month photos, I set up an appointment and brought him in. First, it was 800 degrees in that room. I got all dressed up and was a sweaty mess. She said the air conditioning didn't work very well in that corner (eh?) Second- this is 2010, the age of digital photography. The beauty of digital is you can snap and snap and there is no waste. She took only about 20 photos, most which Charlie looked like he was crapping his pants. Third- my biggest request, my ONLY request is that we get pictures of me with Charlie. There are literally NO pictures of the two of us. There are 5 million of him with his daddy. The only pictures are in the hospital and I had just given birth, not lookin' so hot. She got two pictures of us and I hate them both. I'm too dressed up for the pose and I was so hot, I look, again....like hell. And before I could complain, he was fussing and it was time to go. He was done, probably due to the heat. To look at the pictures so far you would think Matt is a freaking single dad. It's so depressing. So here are the crap pictures of Charlie and I and the only 2 good pictures of just him. And trust me, I realize a photo shoot of a one month old is not going to be perfect, but please. I was so disappointed.
