Joyce and Dick come to visit

Joyce and Dick came to visit and meet Maggie.  It was so good to have them down.  Plus, they brought us our new camper!  They've had a pop up for a while that was 'taking up space' and no one really wanted or used it, so they asked if we wanted it.  YES!

We got Maggie all dressed up to go out to dinner.  We went down to the square and ate at the Courthouse Exchange.  It was insanely hot so we couldn't really walk around, but I drove them around to see Truman's house, Truman Library and Vaille Mansion.  You forget how cool your town is until people come to visit.

We talked them into coming to church with us on Sunday - Charlie was singing for VBS.  It was fun to show them off, I never have family or guests with me....it was nice.  It was a short weekend but so nice to have visitors.  Being so far from my family, with exception of my sister, I don't get many visitors.

One Month Old

She's been smiling!! Long enough that I had time to pull out my phone and get pictures.  I usually think it's a little gas, but these are real smiles!

It has been an amazing month.  She is such a good baby.  She still sleeps a lot, but is starting to be more alert during the day.  She is still sleeping about 6 1/2 hours a night which is crazy awesome.  Breastfeeding is going well and she is almost back to her birth weight.  We've been going to a lactation support group every week so I can check her weight.  Last night (7/25/16) we were up to 9 pounds 8 ounces.  Almost there!

Reasons I'm not a professional photographer

Tried to do a 'photo shoot' with Maggie to get some good pictures. They are mostly terrible, but I'll post them anyway because no matter what, Maggie's pretty cute. Taken 7/8/16

This is an adorable, hilarious, vintage diaper cover from Donna's Dress Shop my friend Carly got her

Catch up with Maggie

6/30/16- I'm grouping a whole lot of pictures together that I just want to make sure I get on here.  I'll write a little commentary later

One of my favorite pieces Charlie has ever done.  It's a sensei (like a karate guy) spider.  I love his little brain

First time venturing out with my TWO babies...forgot the diaper bag.
Our crazy Friday nights
Saturday morning cartoons

7/11/16- 3 am antics

WHO....ME??

Antiques Roadshow with mom.  My favorite show ever...raising her right

Bridgette is interning at the Topeka Zoo this summer.  So a bunch of them went down for the day with her.  How cool is this!?!  Matt's family and his big sister have been great about getting Charlie out of the house.  Being home with mom and baby can be pretty boring for a 6 year old, especially with how insanely hot it has been, keeps us indoors even more than normal.

Charlie thinks and worries and considers Maggie at all hours of every day...it's absolutely adorable.  He likes her bassinet right next to him on the couch and usually likes to be touching her if mom lets him.

7/17/16-Wink!

I could watch her sleep all day

But that's what she does...all day.  She's a great sleeper, thank goodness, except when she NEEDS to be awake.  You get a lot of looks like this.

Blowing her little mind

Hiccups

Disclaimer: I'm about to throw a ton of posts up.  Not many edits, very little commentary.  I need to get a large amount of stuff up and am having a hard time finding the time.  I remember having so much time when I was home with Charlie...it's proving to be a little different with a 6 year old at home too.  But I remember going a little stir crazy home with Charlie and I don't have that this time...I'm panicking at the thought of going back next week!

So here is a bunch of stuff:

This child is the squeakiest, grunting-est, hiccup-iest baby ever. She had the hiccups in my belly non-stop and gets the hiccups every time she feeds. It's heartbreaking because she gets very frustrated. Thankfully, they don't last too long

And here is one of Charlie singing the Beatles Life goes On like a weirdo (he's 6, the weirdness is strong with this one)

Margaret announced at St. Anne's

Every time a baby is born in our church, a rose is put up on the alter and the baby is announced.  I was in no shape to make it to church the Sunday after she was born, but Laura was nice enough to take a picture.
I belong to a fairly small Episcopalian church.  (Well, small when you were raised Catholic).  There are about 75 of us at a service.  In our little church, there are 5 of us that will be having babies within one year.  We joke that Meg is spiking the wine... This is the Gracie, who was born in April to my dear friend Alyssa.  One of my best friends to this day is a St. Barts friend (lookin' at you Theresa), my wish is that they grow up to be besties like we were.  Church friends are the best!  We have 1 boy that was born last fall, and one more boy and a another girl coming in August- just making sure we have a Sunday School class for Miss Laura!
