Real Weddings- Grandma & Grandpa King

This is my maternal grandparents. Doesn't my grandfather look like a stud? My aunt still has the dress, it was peach and totally rad. If I was 90 pounds I would have worn it
This is that same grandmother with my mother on her wedding day- I dig the blue outfit

Real Weddings- my parents!

This is the one going on my heritage table

Dig it

Real Weddings- Grandma & Grandpa Divine

My paternal grandparents- right before they got married- no wedding picture, they eloped in 1925. This is one of my favorite photos of all time.
This is them- 50th wedding anniversary

This is their 60th wedding anniversary- they were together until the end....

Another one of those posts that just made my heart skip

I have been trying to figure out a way to keep my mother, who passed away when I was nine, close to me for the day. There's all sorts of memory candles and blah blah blah, but that doesn't mean anything to me. And if it doesn't mean anything to me, then what's the point? SO....I come across this post and my heart skipped. This is the SAME locket my mother has, and I have it, in my bedroom as a matter of fact. I don't know if I'll actually use it like this, but it does seem a wee bit providential, don't you think? I do like it though....

Dress Shopping

Yep, her hat says "damn seagulls"

So, my sister is coming in today to start dress shopping. An aspect of wedding planning that I have been putting off as long as possible. I'm actually dreading the process. But, I am so excited for my sister to come down. We haven't hung out sans significant others, sans children, sans our parents in like 8 years. An entire weekend of us just by ourselves! Many Miller Lites to be had and giggling like we are kids again.

Yeah for sisters! Especially mine, she's the best and has been so amazing during the wedding planning when there haven't been many amazing people around to help or be supportive, so I couldn't appreciate it more. Although, by the time this wedding happens, she's going to be as ready for it be over as I am! Too bad she doesn't get a trip to Mexico like I do!

More Etching!

I have been using scrapbook shape stamps in vinyl to get the pattern. (Mostly Martha Stewart's) My new favorite craft. Most of my glass comes from thrift stores or from Hobby Lobby, where their glass is permanantly 50% off. Hard to get the picture right with glass, and I need some more practice, but I'm loving how these are turning out!

update: I ended up giving his as a shower gift to my aunt and she loved it. I put a silver candle in it. I also gave her a red candle with some adorable red and white polka dot ribbon so she can change it out.

I got 'em!

Now if I can only figure out how to turn them into pierced ears......

I need a crafty nook

This is where I get crafty. In between the coffee table and the TV....on the floor. I can't wait to have a bigger place!!!!!!
