Very Productive Weekend!

We scheduled suit shopping for Saturday and I did NOT know what to expect. The guys all kept asking me how long it was going to take. I said it could take us 2 hours, it could take us all day. We found the guys suits pretty quickly. They are great looking suits and we got them shirts, ties, shoes, belts, everything and we were done in about 2 hours. It was fabulous. However, our little groomsman is 9. Did you know that it is impossible to find a chocolate brown suit for a 9 year old? We went to Dillards, Macys, Pennys, Kohls, we even went to Sears. Nothing. They each had about a half a rack of suits and they were blue or black. It was very frustrating. So I ended up buying a suit online for him. Here's to hopin' I guess. Hopefully he doesn't look too different from the guys. There isn't much we can do at this point though. We wanted to wait as long as possible to buy his suit because he's such a beansprout. He just keeps growing and growing and I didn't want him to look like pee-wee up there.

Oh and we got Matt's ring finally. Yep, 20 days out and we hadn't even looked for rings for him.

Very productive weekend!

Cozumel

When Matt and I first started talking honeymoons, there were three things we knew we didn't want. We didn't want to go to a resort, we didn't want an all-inclusive and we didn't want to go to Mexico. Well guess what. We are going to Cozumel and we are staying at an all-inclusive resort. Matt's lovely sister and her husband were nice enough to bank us a week of timeshare last year without us knowing and gifted us the hotel for our wedding gift. An AMAZING gift. We wanted to stay in a bungalow with no TV or electricity right on the beach. Well, then we discovered, most of the countries we wanted to go to could get us shot if we were on the beach after dark, and Mexico was looking a whole hell of a lot better. We got our first email update from the honeymoon company since we booked it and I have to say, I'm getting really, really excited!!
Pray for no hurricanes for us please....

This is why I bought an inexpensive dress....

So I could buy these fabulously expensive shoes. They are Hey Lady They are specifically made for days when you need to be in heels for 12 hours. I tried on a pair in a store for size (thank goodness, I go up a 1/2 a size in these) They are so comfortable.
Please meet my shoes.....

Here are some others from their site...

30 days people!

We're at 30 days today. Well, it's one month from this Saturday. I had a little melt down last night. All the things I said I needed to do "close to the wedding". Well, it's officially "close to the wedding". I'm overwhelmed with all the things there are to do and all the money we are spending! We're doing a super low-budget wedding, I can't imagine writing checks out for these weddings that I read about all over the place. From what I've read out there, the average wedding costs almost 3 1/2 times what my wedding will cost and I'm flabbergasted at how much money we are spending for one day! It just hope it turns out and that people have a good time (8 1/2 hours of open bar, how could we not?)

After a year of planning, I am so ready for this. In my head, we are already married, have been for a while.

At this point, it's all paperwork.

Chair Art

So, we just moved into our new house and I have zero 'art', unless you count the spuds mckenzie poster I still have from college. I'm excited to actually hang some real items that I like. I found these on mason jar bride's husband-to-be's blog and I fell in love with them both. Now I just need to talk Matt into them......

New House

We are slowly moving into a new house, it is currently a disaster area, but I will show some pictures when it's set up. Then hopefully some more pictures when we paint, and paint and then paint some more. I'm living in the house for the next few weeks and then Matt moves in after the wedding (which is right around the corner!)
Unpacking my new pots and pans and getting them washed up (and drinking lots of wine)

Putting my new dishes away- yeah new stuff!

Bathroom

My favorite clock

Lots of extra storage off the kitchen- new light over the stairs is a top priority

Trying to unpack the kitchen (nice curtain huh?)

Disaster of a living room- nice shutters huh? As soon as I can figure out window treatments they are burning in the fire pit

Bridgette's room

Mess of a master bedroom without a bed in it

Heading to the Alterer...

Going to the tailor today for my first dress fitting. In case you haven't heard, to say my dress doesn't fit me would be the understatement of the century. I basically bought $250 worth of beautiful fabric that has to be completely remade....and we're 38 days out. Yeah, yeah, I've gotten yelled at by everyone for only now going to the tailor. But I moved, and then I, well, I guess moving is the only excuse. But I'm going today, hopefully it won't be too big of a nightmare.

Wish me luck!
