Women's March

I've put off posting this one because I'm not sure what I want to say.  I'm not sure how I want to record this event for my children to read in the future.  What I really want to say would be too harsh, what I want to say and should say, would take more time than I could ever dedicate to this post. I love history and I feel like I'm watching it being written before my eyes, but I'm scared of the outcome.  I love this country, and I know who we are and what we stand for, but will civil rights triumph?  We are at a strange and scary time in our history.  This isn't like the past when I just didn't agree with the politics of the party in power.  Although I've moved to the center and left in my politics, I still find myself holding very conservative views on certain issues.  I was a college republican and campaigned for Ron Paul for pete's sake.  But I will not put money, taxes and corporations in front of human rights.  I will not be ashamed to tell my children and grandchildren about my actions.  It hurts my heart every time Charlie says the words 'President Trump'.  He's in first grade and you start learning about the government and the President at this age.  It's in my daily prayers that Charlie will have little, to no memory of America under this President and that Maggie will only read about him in the history books.  He isn't a standard republican, he is a textbook demagogue.  And AS A HISTORY MAJOR, READ YOUR TEXTBOOKS.  This has been done before to ruinous end.  I just hope that Pence (who I also find abhorrent, but doesn't threaten our national security) finishes out Trump's term.  Pray for your our children, black, white, yellow, and brown. And pray for those who can't see what is right in front of them and pray for those who fight for what's right.
I chose one Saturday in January to work and make everyone else work.  As the boss, I had to go in, so I was unable to March.  I felt like I was missing the prom, but other's represented for me!  He is Courtney's sign in St. Louis.   She wrote this on the back of her sign .  LOVE

Another one of my friend was actually able to get to Washington DC to march and wrote all the women she represented on her sign, including Miss Margaret.  I love that I will have these to show Maggie some day.
And Maggie's Aunt Geneva and Uncle Chad sent this in the mail for her.

Did you vote?

Took Charlie with me to vote today- all the old ladies working the polls just loved him.  One lady even insisted I let her hold him while I voted. She respectfully stood the other way, but right behind me.  Charlie drooled ALL over her, and she didn't mind one bit.  She was adorable

In order to form a more perfect union

Table "numbers"
Each table will be named after a political figure. Yes, we've taken pains to match groupings of guests with particular political figures. Yes, it's all under wraps until May 24. But the table signs are making me so happy right now, I just had to post one as a preview. I used components of our invitation suite to build them.

Why didn't I think of this?! I can just picture who I would sit at the Ronnie Reagan table...
I love this wedding!
