Fletcher

We were heartbroken to lose our Fletcher early December. It's been 2 months and I still hear his collar jingling...the house just isn't the same without you sweet boy.

Feast of St Francis

Sunday we did a blessing of the pets after church.  So everyone brings their pet, or a picture of their pet, or their stuffed pet...it's adorable.  Church is chaotic (one of  the dogs whined loudly every time we sang, I guess he thinks we need to work on our vocal skills) but it is so fun having dogs everywhere!
I love this picture of Meg and her big jar of treats.

Labor Day Weekend - Bennett Springs

We headed down to Lebanon, MO where Matt deer hunts to pick up an old pop up camper we are rehabbing (LOTS more on that to come).  That took up all of Saturday.  We camped Saturday night on the Niangua and headed out to Bennett Springs Sunday morning before having to head back to KC for a 7pm T Bones game.

It is seriously one of the most beautiful places ever, this picture does it NO justice.  Sometimes I seriously dislike Missouri and it's lack of lakes, I was spoiled growing up.  But Minnesota has nothing on Missouri's river systems, insanely beautiful.

Bennett Springs produces 100 million gallons a day, so the water is freezing with a strong current.   Not to mention CRYSTAL clear.

We were short on time, so we didn't catch much, but was a great time, as always.

Fourth of July

Absolutely loving our new little pool, Charlie would stay in there all day if we let him

I kinda miss living in Minnesota where fireworks are illegal, people get stupid on the fourth.  But the upside is, we just put a blanket on the curb and watched all the fireworks up and down our street, behind us, next to us, freaking everywhere.  Downside, our new dog  can NOT handle fireworks.  We had to put him in the basement bedroom with a fan, the washing machine running and we gave him 12 towels to hide under in his kennel and the poor thing still had a rough night.

This is basically an 8 second audio-only video of Charlie's adorable voice And here is a 25 second video of how darn cute our new dog is

Fletcher

My camera died right at the end...
Ready to go get the puppy!

He was SO timid when we met him.  He was terrified of Charlie

He was perfect!

The shelter was about a 2 hour drive south.  It's a great shelter, he didn't want to leave- we had to pick him up and put him in the car

Even though he was sweet and timid, we didn't want him alone in the back with Charlie, so I sat in the back and Lord Fletcher got the front.  This is when he really started to feel comfortable

Home

'Look at this HUGE yard!!'

Check out that tongue
He's 'my' dog, but Matt and Fletch are already smitten with eachother

He is home!
