Catch Up

I love getting pictures from Charlie's teacher

Happy Hours with the bestie - still a total necessity

Lloyd is gone, we found Charlie again

Early morning trip back to the capital.  Getting very good at this drive

How my kid sleeps.  Every night, total disaster

Goober's team from last year made the ad in the Blue Springs Park and Rec magazine for All Stars Football.

Got chosen to give a lunch and learn.  It's basically a chance to get up in front of  bunch of chamber members and pitch for an hour.  I was terrified but it was actually fun and very well received!

Love being within walking distance of Charlie's school so Fletcher and I can walk to get him on nice days

Charlie Art for 9/11, tugged at my heart a bit

Tom Szaky from Terracyle was our keynote speaker.  This guy was AWESOME.  If you don't know what Terracycle is, look it up.  It's absolutely amazing what they are doing.

Charlie's Last Football Game

Another fantastic year of football, all 5 practices/games.  I'll miss that easy schedule for sports as he gets older...

'Football Necklace' as he calls it

Trying to wrangle 4 and 5 year olds to take a picture...

Charlie's first little 'touchdown (even though he got his flag pulled, this is the first time he's gotten more than 2 feet)

Goings On - New Car, First Vikes Game, SantaCaliGon, VBS, TOMATOES

Time to squish 5 posts into one....
Finally got a 'new' car.  The Saab had done it's job and we milked that no-car-payment for all we could, but it was time.  I LOVE this car.  LOVE.  For was it lacks in my aesthetic preferences, it fits SO MUCH CRAP in it!  And the back seat leg room  is ridiculous.  I'm happy every time I get in it.  Charlie and I went out on our own and started.  Car shopping is the WORST.  But thankfully, Matt stepped in and got me the car I needed and wanted.  Yea for good husbands!

Our downtown square has a festival every Labor Day called the SantaCaliGon.  (because our town is where the Sante Fe, California and Oregon Trails met) The fair isn't bad but the carnival is SO hilariously ghetto.  I took Charlie to do some old time rides.  (SO expensive, for what you pay to ride, you think they could slap on a fresh coat of paint)  But we had a fun time just the two us.  (Matt was having no part of it) Rode a few rides and then let him go on the creepy clown train 3 times since that was the only one he really wanted to do anyway.

Vacation Bible School - if I had to suffer through VBS my whole childhood, you will too Charlie.  And since I'm pretty sure no one from church reads this blog, I can say...it was pretty painful to sit through.  But we had to go to our family reunion, so we only had to sit through one night.  Laura works her butt off to put this stuff on for the kids and I adore her for it, there are just not many ways you can make VBS awesome in my mind, but I'm probably still biased from childhood.  (so much McDonald's orange drink)

Lovely huh?   Got Chiefs/Vikings tickets from my work, so Charlie got to go to his first Vikings game...even if it had to be played at Arrowhead.  We had a good time, it was HOT and crowded and parking it a NIGHTMARE there, but yes, a good time.  But I'm good on going to Arrowhead for five years though.

Our Mr. Cool teenager and the SPAZ
Charlie trying to be like Ethan and holding up three fingers, this picture made me laugh so hard when I saw it, what a dork!  This may have to be our Christmas picture...

The Garden....OH the garden.  We had a steller year.  By far the most produce we have EVER had, it's been overwhelming.  I've made pickles, spaghetti sauce, salsa, creamy cucumbers, stuffed peppers over and over and over for dinner, still too much stuff.  One night I just walked up and down my street knocking on doors begging for people to take tomatoes.  I don't can, so I've had to get creative.

Spaghetti sauce turned out awesome, the salsa, not so much.

This was one nights pull, and there were weeks on end that this or more was pulled every night. I never knew how much tomatoes could stress me out

Football Season Has Started - let the hilarity begin!

Crappy IPhone 4 pics anyone?
Probably tattling

This year affirms why we have been doing this.  He is SO much better than last year.  Last year it was all rolling in the grass, wandering off and general toddler stuff.  But we worked with him, had lots of talks and he did awesome!  He listened to his coaches and didn't play too rough and his skills are even better (no more ducking from the ball)

I'm so proud of him for doing well, most other kids on his team where doing it for their first time and were where he was last year, so he really stood out!

Video!!

This one is my favorite
