Hiccups

Disclaimer: I'm about to throw a ton of posts up.  Not many edits, very little commentary.  I need to get a large amount of stuff up and am having a hard time finding the time.  I remember having so much time when I was home with Charlie...it's proving to be a little different with a 6 year old at home too.  But I remember going a little stir crazy home with Charlie and I don't have that this time...I'm panicking at the thought of going back next week!

So here is a bunch of stuff:

This child is the squeakiest, grunting-est, hiccup-iest baby ever. She had the hiccups in my belly non-stop and gets the hiccups every time she feeds. It's heartbreaking because she gets very frustrated. Thankfully, they don't last too long

And here is one of Charlie singing the Beatles Life goes On like a weirdo (he's 6, the weirdness is strong with this one)

Football Season Has Started - let the hilarity begin!

Crappy IPhone 4 pics anyone?
Probably tattling

This year affirms why we have been doing this.  He is SO much better than last year.  Last year it was all rolling in the grass, wandering off and general toddler stuff.  But we worked with him, had lots of talks and he did awesome!  He listened to his coaches and didn't play too rough and his skills are even better (no more ducking from the ball)

I'm so proud of him for doing well, most other kids on his team where doing it for their first time and were where he was last year, so he really stood out!

Video!!

This one is my favorite

The Performer

He is learning all these new songs in school (more on that later) and goes around singing...a LOT. I recognize most of them, have no idea what this one is

He asked me to film him again...such a performer

>

These are probably only entertaining to me, but I about died....

Christmas in the Park

KC has a Christmas in the Park, the lines are always ridiculously long. We made the decision to just go.  So we emptied our bladders, grabbed the dog, got some Christmas tunes and camped out in the truck.  Took us just under 2 hours, but most of that time we were at a dead stop or creeping, so we got Charlie out of his car seat and he freaked out.  He thought it was so cool he was allowed to run all over the truck, all over mom, and hang his head out the window with Fletcher and wave at other cars...I can't imagine what they must have thought of us.

It was actually pretty cool, it all moves and there is so much to look at

entranced

That's his big head down in front

Ethan, Ethan, Ethan

This blog mostly revolves around stinky pants because he's at my leg 24-7, but Ethan is growing up!!  His voice is drastically and hilariously dropping, he's wrestling, running cross country, hunting with his dad and playing in the band, SO much stuff going on with him that never gets reported....bad mollie

Want to catch up with what's going on with Ethan?

I cleaned Matt's phone out, so some of these are a little old....

Pat retired, so what do you do when you retire?  Fish with your boys.  I don't even know if Pat likes fishing, but gosh darnit, Matt WILL fish with his dad!  ha ha

THEN, Matt let Ethan drive down at the Deer Woods. It's the greatest place to let kids get a feel for driving... nothing to hit. And he'll be driving before we know it, he turns... 14 in April! He's still spazzy Ethan, but now he's spazzy Ethan WITH GIRLFRIENDS, and the girls love him, it's hilarious Ethan's Band Concert, Matt took lots of video since I was home with a sick, tired 3 year old

Craftin' in Afton

Another weekend with my favorite people- Courtney and I made wreaths and we all drank beers, watched football and played with trains
We got in to the Lou late morning and headed to the craft store!
Stupid blurry photos, we'll just put a filter on them and they'll look 'hip'

They have a train that EMITS STEAM- this entertained Charlie for, no joke, four hours

We tried to drown out the train noise with football, but were so happy he was entertained

Scott and Courtney spoiled him rotten all weekend...new cars, new book, new monster truck.  Took him to a actual toy train store so they could buy the steam droplets for their train. SPOILED

After covering most of their basement with glitter, we made wreaths.  This one is Court's and it's awesome!

I made an Iowa State wreath for Mal...

Thank you Brazell's for another fabulous weekend, can't wait for it to warm up so you can come see us!

Last Pee Wee Football

Ready for our last Football 'Game'

Here is a really bad video of Charlie running the ball.  He made it about 10 feet, got both flags ripped off and the ball taken away and immediately proceeded to cry.  But, at least he wasn't tackled!  It was pretty cute, he really had no idea what he was doing, just did what he was told, our little Forrest Gump

You can see kids dog piling behind him.  Even though the program had a strict 'no tackle' policy, the kids just piled on each other.  I saw Charlie literally run and jump on top of a pile of like, six kids.  The coach's would just grab them by the shirts and yank them off each other- no one was hurt, which made it okay to die laughing

Taking it all in

Getting his award

This girl was awesome- such a help and the kids loved her

Admiring his medal

Woo! Participation!
We had a lot of fun.  I think it was as entertaining for the parents as it was for the kids, probably even more so.  With 3-4 year olds, there were tears, wandering off, extreme lack of attention, falls, dog piles, more dog piles- all around hilarious, but it was a good start to get them ready for team sports.
