Never Ending Winter

Welcome to March!

This has been by far, the snowiest, coldest winter since moving down here.  We've handled it pretty well, but this girl is ready for Spring!  Luckily, it's warming up and most of this is gone
Charlie TOTALLY engrossed with Brother Bear (have you seen that movie?  It's actually pretty cute and really funny- who knew?)

And here is a compilation of a million 10 second videos of Matt and Charlie sledding on the HOMEMADE sled Matt made and they are probably out of order, I apologize.

Winteryest Winter Ever

Update- the hubs had back surgery.  He's healing well.  Hobbling around like an old man, but hopefully back in action by spring (you don't want me to plant the garden- dead.plants.everywhere)

We got about 14" of snow over two days, so that was crazy.  With Matt laid up, I was on shoveling duty.  Stayed on it all day shoveling little bits at a time so I didn't have to do it all at once.  It was awesome until the plow finally came.  Digging out the mound at the end of the driveway just about gave me a heart attack.  Charlie loved it, he could have stayed out there ALL day

Fletcher liked it too- he was freaking adorable in the snow
Cabin fever from being stuck inside- we made a marble run out of label cores from my work and empty paint can samples, again, from my work.  My job is awesome like that sometimes.  Aren't Charlie's little legs adorable in the long picture?  I could just eat him.
That catches up a bit....at least for now

It's like Minnesota up in here!

Welcome to Spring!

No mind, Charlie still wanted to ride his bike no matter what...

We got like 7 inches...at the end of March.  And although the snow is great, we are in desperate need of the moisture and snow absorbs into the ground better than rain- this girl is ready for spring. I'm ready to start complaining about the heat!

Snow Day Part Two!

Dirty, stinky, over-grown dogs LOVE snow...

Our neighbors built an igloo- parenting win

Trying to take down the branch before it takes out our power- seriously, can we get underground power???

We took his gloves off for the snowball fight which he thoroughly enjoyed as you can see...

Probably more pictures of him than you need, but his face was dying of laughter, I had to get it all!

Here we go again!

This one is so wet and heavy, there are transformers blowing everywhere!  Pray we keep our power!
If that branch finally falls- we're screwed

Thundersnow!

We woke up around 7 and there was no snow.  We grumbled and got ready for work.  By the time we were ready to go, it was DUMPING- this is about an hour into the storm.  SNOW DAY!

It was lighting and thundering also, which was SO bizarre

Huge snowflakes

Watching Nikita  and Berlin play in the snow on the Polar Bear Cam at the Zoo

Finally get to go outside!  We've had pretty warm winters since he has been born, so this kid has very little snow experience.  I think that is the first time he's ever worn that snow suit.

The path Matt makes for the mailman.  Also to get over the Chuck's next door.  He's older and has been in a wheelchair since he was a boy due to polio.  Matt, Ethan, the neighbor boy, and May's boyfriend across the street went to town on his driveway and got it all dug out in case he need to go anywhere.  I love seeing that. We have great people on our street.

B and Charlie

Big sister taking Charlie on his first sled ride!  How sad that he had to be 2 1/2 before that happened?

I love Fred in this picture

SNOW!  B is making a snow angel, E is throwing a snowball at Fred and Charlie is just soaking it all in...

Charlie LOVED the snow...then he HATED the snow....then he LOVED the snow...then he HATED the snow- all depending on how much snow was on his face

Oops...should have brought the trike inside.

It won't go anywhere!

Soon after this, he got a bunch of snow on his face and freaked out.  We went in....
