| The attempts - huh? |
Charlie just gets busier and busier every day. He babbles and coos, but no inkling of actual words. I can't tell if he knows his name or is just responding to our voices. He's eating baby food twice a day. Sweet potatoes are his favorite. That's where I hide things like lentils and cauliflower. He'll eat anything mixed with sweet potatoes. He's still up once a night to feed. I feel like I'll never get a full nights sleep ever again. Even when Matt gets up to do the feeding, it still wakes me up and I usually can't sleep until Matt is back in bed. Then he's usually up at 4 or 5, but if I get up and change his diaper, he usually will go right back down until I get him up at 7:15 to head to daycare. Weekends, he will sleep until about 8 - that's sleeping in for him.
We've got him going down between 7:30 and 8:00 at night. It's a rare treat when he goes straight down. Usually he fusses a bit, spits out his pacifier and we have to go in and re-plug a couple of times. Now that he is free to move around, he sleeps on his belly. No matter which way I lay him down, next time I'm in there, he's on his belly. I know back is best, but I don't blame him, I'm a tummy sleeper too.
He's trying so hard to crawl. As you can see in earlier posts, he just goes backwards as of right now. Usually cries a little. It's frustrating to try to get your toys and actually moving farther away from them. It's so nice that he's at an age that he can sit up without any support and I can give him toys to occupy him. He likes his foam blocks & his peacock- those are probably his two favorite.
Day care is going well. I'm so comfortable with Lauren. It's so nice to leave him somewhere you know he's loved every day. And she's such a good mommy- she has very good instincts. I wonder how many times she rolls her eyes at my parenting mis-steps. I am not the fish-to-water mother that she is.
Well, that's the updates for now. More to come...
