Didn't see this coming....

Unexpected expense of having a baby? Toilet paper. It is obscene how much toilet paper I went through this weekend. I have never, ever peed so much in my life. I thought the peeing issue didn't happen until the end?!? And I am majorly guilty of taking too much toilet paper at a time, always have. (It keeps all nice and clean when you use a bunch!) It's going to be a long 21 weeks.

I have been prego for almost 20 weeks and I feel like I've been pregnant for 14 months, my poor husband probably feels like it's been even longer. He thinks I may be a bit of a drama queen when it comes to being pregnant. (not me!)

David Bowie says 'Go to sleep little one!'

This baby loves to move...a lot. But today is especially active. He's been doing somersaults in my belly pretty much all day. It's really affecting my bladder. I feel like I'm about to pee my pants, I run to the restroom and...nothing....maybe teaspoons of pee. Then when I'm done, I still have to pee. Feeling this little thing in my belly is awesome. On that note....GO TO SLEEP BABY!

Yummy Yummy Potatoes

I found this recipe on Snaps and blabs and it is amazing. Especially during my first trimester when all my stomach (and nose) would tolerate was potatoes. I've made it so many times and messed with the recipe here and there I thought I would post it. It's easy sneezy and delish

Start with washed and chopped to big chunks potatoes.
I leave the skin, as its the healthiest part of them and it gets crispy by the end of this process. (She has red potatoes, I use whatever potatoes are around, they all work)

Now, fill with water and throw in some sea salt and boil.

Boil until they they get soft, but not too soft. You will see why in a minute.

Prepare for the next step.
Run to the garden and grab some thyme and garlic chives.

(I did this in the winter, I used just some dried rosemary and thyme)

Then on the way back grab the stick of french butter (or in my case, salted butter, I don't have french butter laying around) , you will need it.

Drain the potatoes, but leave a bit of liquid in and then throw in the herbs,
as much butter as you think you can handle. We handle a lot.
And pour a good dollop of extra virgin olive oil.

(Yes, if it is possible, you can use too much butter. The first time I did this, the potatoes were literally swimming in butter, but it led me to the greatest result! I drained the herby butter into a pan and scrambled some eggs in it and we had eggs and potatoes swimming in herbiliciousness throughout. We actually had it Christmas morning and it was AMAZING)

Another time I had some left over crispy bacon and I crumbled that in at the end- just for about 10 minutes or so, that way it didn't lose it's crunch- another delicious improvisation

Now, put the lid on and cover it with a towel. (or stir with a wooden spoon, which is what I did)

And then shake. Shake well to mix all the goodies and to make the potatoes rough.
Then pour them in a baking tray. (or my beautiful new stoneware I got for the wedding)

And put them in a moderately hot oven. (I did 375, turned it up at the end to crisp up)

Then check out your pot and savor the left overs.
They are deeeeelishious.

They really are good, and I highly recommend for breakfast
