Official Halloween Post- Thurston Howell the Third

I know I already spoiled his costume last post, but here are more pictures that anyone really needs of a three year old dressed up for Halloween

Being patient waiting for time we can go- he was SO good (probably because he knew candy was coming)

Last year, it was only after the first person dropped candy in his bucket that he understood what was going on- this year we were able to actually talk about it and get him ready

I promise, he was more excited than he looks

There it is....Ethan came over for a bit and did some trick or treating

Awesome thing is that our street is so quiet, no one gets a ton of trick or treaters, each house gives out handfuls of candy.  One pass on our block and his bucket was full

There was a total age gap people guessing what his costume was- there was definitely an age that anyone older totally nailed that he was Thruston and anyone younger just called him Captain...it's all good, it was so fun!

They had a Halloween party at church, so all the kids wore costumes, it was adorable...

After Sunday School, they did a little parade so everyone could see them

Charlie and Miss Laura.  She's one of those people who make children's programs work.  Unpaid, overworked, hero in my book - she's awesome

Little Wessley was Audrey Hepburn, she wouldn't keep her pearls on but man, she was so cute

We had a big potluck, the youth group did a haunted house and they had games for the little ones including a scavenger hunt - this is Charlie, Alex and Jordan

Here is a really bad video of Charlie running the ball.  He made it about 10 feet, got both flags ripped off and the ball taken away and immediately proceeded to cry.  But, at least he wasn't tackled!  It was pretty cute, he really had no idea what he was doing, just did what he was told, our little Forrest Gump

 

You can see kids dog piling behind him.  Even though the program had a strict 'no tackle' policy, the kids just piled on each other.  I saw Charlie literally run and jump on top of a pile of like, six kids.  The coach's would just grab them by the shirts and yank them off each other- no one was hurt, which made it okay to die laughing

We had a lot of fun.  I think it was as entertaining for the parents as it was for the kids, probably even more so.  With 3-4 year olds, there were tears, wandering off, extreme lack of attention, falls, dog piles, more dog piles- all around hilarious, but it was a good start to get them ready for team sports.

'Sun-Drying' tomatoes in the oven.  Recipe said 2-3 hours- It look us just at 24 hours.  I can't figure out how hers only took 2 hours- I cooked a lot more, but really?

So now we have more sun dried tomatoes than we could ever eat.  I blended some for a SUPER pungent sauce, but I have no idea how we're going to eat all of it.  Anyone want some?
