My Mother's Day- a little late

Woke up to these....
By the way, just finished that book.  Took me forever to get into it, then it was really good and then, it just ended.  ker-splat.  So disappointing. I wanted to throw it out the window...

Then I got this awesome card from Ethan.  It says 'You'll always save me! Just like Mario saves the Princess!' and he made me Mario coins (the cardboard kinda-circles) This is going in the folder forever, I died

All and all it was a great day, I got to sleep in a bit.  Anything past 7 am is a dream, we had a nice easy morning and headed over to Matt's parents to see his mom.  We got to see the Booth's and Chad which made it all the better!

Haley's Graduation Party

Haley graduated from High School and her graduation party was this weekend so we all trekked it to Solon for the party. It was fun to celebrate with her and a good excuse to get some family time in. The party was great fun but HOT

Happy Birthday Matt!

Birthday or not, Matt still has to take care of his plants.  Good thing he has a helper.

I made Matt a dinner of steak, twice baked potatoes, tons of marinated grilled mushrooms and I got a thing of broccoli salad from the grocery store (seriously, is broccoli salad the best food ever invented er what?)

And even though fat baby had already eaten, he got to dine on all the fancy food too

No bake icebox cupcakes that didn't work, so I turned them into a 'sheet' cake.   And the filling?  I have no idea what I did, but it was supposed to be whipped cream.  I whipped it too long and it basically turned into butter.   I had it in my mixer, it was coming together nicely.  Next thing I know I come back and the liquid had separated back out of it and it was butter.  I wish I would have taken a picture of it, it was so bizarre.  But I used it anyway and it was delicious.  It had 2 whole lemons worth of zest and juice so it was this lemoney, sugary.....butter.  Weird, I know.  The well-intentioned chef strikes again and makes the recovery!
