T Bones Home Opener

I'm a little behind on this one, this was back on May 15th.  It was a frigid night for May but we are so excited the season has started!  We love minor league baseball.  Fun, affordable and just a better atmosphere and crowd then at MLB games.  Doesn't help our MLB team is the Royals...I may be singing a different tune if we were in Detroit.

Game was really drawn out- we ended having to leave at the 7th inning because it was pushing 10 o'clock.  Found out the next day the game got called for midnight curfew- 13 innings!

Best picture I could get.  He had tracker eye on Sizzle ALL night but wouldn't have anything to do with him once he was close up.  The mascot was sweet and got down on his knees trying to be friendly.  Charlie gave the requested high five and RAN back to me.

Best corn dogs outside the Minnesota State Fair, extra mustard,of course

We have a small package of games we bought, so more T Bones to come!

'Last Day' of Pre-School

'Last Day' because he keeps going through the summer, but it's the last day with Miss Amy until the fall.  Charlie has just loved his teacher this year.  We adore Miss Amy!  She's kind and funny and truly interested in each kid.  She is also not super sugar sweet so that, as an adult, you can be totally real with her and have a conversation.  As of right now she is his teacher next year too- fingers crossed!

Bucket Head

Charlie ATE it on the playground at school. I went all the way up on his eye!  I love on day 7 how he holds his chin because he was so used to me doing it to get a steady shot...
little boys....

We had a strangely hot day, so we pulled out the pool for the first time of the year

Helping dad get the peas in
Bucket Head!!  Boys are SO weird.  See how muddy the water is? He would get his feet all muddy and jump in the pool and repeat.  Baby Spa!! (Hi Sarah)

We totally have this kid....

Not much going on over here, let's look at funny stuff

Matt always makes fun of me when I rap along to songs - I'm so hardcore in my capri pants from kohls living in the 'burbs

I have NO idea why this is so funny to me.  I laughed so hard, and then when I thought about it, I laughed some more.  Matt didn't get why it was so funny.  It's funny!!

Dad humor

I literally do this

More dad humor

Reasons not to buy ugly crap from Hallmark!  It scares babies!

Sent this to Charlie's teacher.  He has only seen the movie once, but somehow knows every single thing about the movie.  The kids are OBSESSED

I caught Charlie playing with Matt's motorcycle keys, that could have ended badly

I don't know what is so funny about fur-licking, but I died

First Field Trip to the Zoo with School

I can't even tell you how happy I am with Charlie's school. He is one of the youngest in the class and will be in it for probably another two years.  Being a boy, I can almost guarantee we'll start him late into kindergarten.  He has made absolute leaps and bounds since starting in January. We had the end of year conference and it was full of all this awesome stuff from the semester, here are a few gems I picked out.

This blew me away. These are little jobs they have and they can draw their job- above is from the beginning of the semester

And this is from the end of semester, just a few months really.  Charlie has never been my artist.  Coloring doesn't really interest him.  If he is required to draw, he usually does with one color and just scribbles.  We are drawing people with eyes and limbs!  They have really honed his fine motor skills and it is awesome.  While most kids at this age have been able to do this for a while, Charlie was really late talking and the ability to hold, well, anything.  (he could climb to the top of a playground at 18 months though- all boy, this one)

'ALL his toys' huh?  I got nothin'

They read Dr Seuss's book 10 Apples up on Top and made this (the top is cut off) this cracked me up- I can just see Miss Amy saying 'Look up Charlie!' and him doing that with his hand- SO DING DANG CUTE

Just look at those fine motor skills...you go Charlie
But where he is downright excelling is on his phonics.  They use 'Jolly Phonics' which is this adorable method of teaching them their sounds.  So when they learn S, they say SSSSS and make the shape of a snake and when they lean N, they put their arms out like a plane and say NNNNN - I found this cruddy picture on google somewhere, but you get the idea.
First field trip with his class!  I was so excited to be able to go with him.

It's hilarious, they are so little, each one had a sticker on his back with Miss Amy's cell phone number on it
